The 5th webinar of the BIOCOGEN 2030 stakeholder platform took place on 7 December, focusing on the role of biomass CHP in the clean energy transition. Four inspiring speakers respectively from COGEN Europe, Bioenergy Europe, SmartCHP and Blaze projects discussed the importance of bioenergy and, in particular, biomass CHP to reach European energy targets stipulated in the Fit for 55 Strategy. Moreover, the webinar offered insights into commercial applications and practical uses of the solutions developed within SmartCHP and Blaze.

BIOCOGEN 2030 is a stakeholder community dedicated to biomass-based combined heat and power (CHP) systems that has been launched by partners of two EU funded projects: BLAZE and SmartCHP. The platform will foster knowledge exchange, gather feedback on R&D activities and enhance networking in the area, with the overall mission of increasing the share of bioenergy in the cogeneration market by the end of the decade.
